Fixing the Companion App
If the mobile MLB The Show 26 Companion App keeps crashing or won’t load:
- Manual Update
Many Android crashes—especially in text boxes or the marketplace—are fixed by manually updating the app via the Google Play Store or App Store. - Clear Cache & Data
- On Android: Long-press the app icon → Storage → Clear Cache.
- If problems persist, tap Clear Data (you’ll need to log in again).
- On iOS: Delete and reinstall the app to clear cached data.
- Unlock “Blocked” Screens
Some menus won’t load until you sync your account. Make sure you’ve completed a Starter Moment or obtained your first Diamond Dynasty card. - Hard Restart
Close the app completely and restart your device. A fresh start often fixes lingering bugs.
Fixing Console Game Crashes (PS5/Xbox)
If MLB The Show 26 keeps crashing on your console:
- Install Game Updates
Make sure Update 2 or 3 is installed. These updates target stability issues in Diamond Dynasty and Mini Seasons. - Adjust PS5 Settings
- Lock frame rate to 60 FPS.
- Turn off VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) and 120Hz Output in system settings.
- Rebuild Database: Boot into Safe Mode (hold power until the second beep) → select Rebuild Database.
- Xbox Power Cycle
Hold the console’s power button for 10 seconds, unplug for 30 seconds, then power it back on. - Avoid High-Latency Menus
Switching rapidly between the Progress/XP path and Collections screens can freeze the game. Until further patches arrive, take it slow in these menus.
Common Error Fixes
- “Not Enough Eligible Players” (Mini Seasons)
Go to View and Edit Roster → Squad Options → Generate Best Squad. This resets eligibility. - Network/Connection Errors
Check the MLB The Show Server Status or PlayStation Service Status. If servers are fine, try disabling Cross-Play to reduce disconnects. - Missing Rewards
If a crash wipes your rewards, contact MLB The Show Support with screenshots of your progress.
